About membership
What qualifications do I need?
Applicants must hold recognised qualifications aligned with industry standards for their category. For testing, this generally means training in methamphetamine sampling to the NIOSH 9111 method and report interpretation. For decontamination, it means training in remediation, waste handling and protective equipment. Laboratories must hold NATA accreditation for the relevant analysis. Contact us if you are unsure whether your qualifications are recognised.
What insurance is required?
Testing and decontamination members must hold current public liability insurance, and testing members must also hold professional indemnity insurance. Certificates of currency are requested at application and at each renewal.
Can I upgrade later?
Yes. Community members can apply for standard membership once they provide services in the industry, and standard members move to full membership once provisional obligations are met. You pay the difference for the remainder of the year.
Is the fee tax deductible?
Membership fees for industry associations are generally a business expense. Speak with your accountant about your circumstances.
